Ghibli Park has released the latest information on the new “Orionza” exhibition that will run through this spring, including the films to be screened and limited-time-only food items.
The “Orionza” at the Ghibli Grand Warehouse is currently showing short animated films produced by Studio Ghibli on a monthly basis, with March’s screening scheduled to be “Yadosagashi,” a film released in 2006 that has almost no dialogue and uses human voices to express all the sounds. The film was written and directed by Hayao Miyazaki, and runs approximately 12 minutes. In January, “Mei to Koneko Bus” directed by Hayao Miyazaki will be screened, and in February, “Chuzumo” directed by Akihiko Yamashita.
In addition, the “Frog Yaki” sold at the “Flying Oven” restaurant stall is now available in a strawberry chocolate flavor using seasonal strawberries. The strawberry chocolate-dipped dough is filled with strawberry-kneaded bean paste. It will be on sale from February 5 to March 31 at a price of 1,000 yen.
In addition, the park is currently holding its first “Winter Illumination” until February 3. The glass walls of Ghibli’s Grand Warehouse are decorated with lights in the motif of Howl’s Castle and Hatter’s Hat Shop from “Howl’s Moving Castle,” and visitors can enjoy a glow that moves like a frame-by-frame animation.
The “13 Witches” merchandise store also offers original goods related to the work, such as “Howl’s Castle (spring-loaded)” (3,300 yen) and “Pop Art Cards / Witches’ Valley: Howl’s Castle” (1,430 yen), which were just released at the end of December.
