Hiroshima Castle Associates, Inc. has set March 29 as the opening date for the first phase of commercial facilities in the San-no-maru development project at Hiroshima Castle (21-1 Motomachi, Naka-ku, Hiroshima City, Hiroshima Prefecture).
The facility includes “Charcoal Grill Unagi Unaki Hiroshima”, “Sanomaru Hachimasa” (okonomiyaki), “SOKO CAFÉ”, the first café supervised by the Ueda Muneyoshi school, a samurai tea ceremony associated with Hiroshima, “Hiroshima IPPIN”, a select store offering local souvenirs, and “Hiroshima Castle Shiraku”, the first miniature archery range inside a castle in Japan where visitors can learn and play. A total of five stores will be open. There will also be a pay parking lot with space for 67 cars and restrooms available 24 hours a day.
The second phase area, which will open in the future, will include the Hiroshima Castle San-no-Maru Historical Museum, further commercial facilities, and a pedestrian deck leading to the Hiroshima Stadium Park.
