ICOCA Web commuter pass service “iCONPASS” enables customers to purchase commuter passes on the web without going to the counter.

JR West announced the name of the ICOCA Web commuter pass service, which was scheduled to be introduced in the spring of 2025, as “iCONPASS” and disclosed the main usage methods.

iCONPASS” is a service that allows users to purchase ICOCA commuter passes from the website of regional railroad and bus operators that have introduced the ICOCA system. In addition to uploading the necessary documents for purchasing commuter passes and other forms of identification, renewal purchases and refunds can also be made on the website.

To use ICOCA, you need to register as a member and register your ICOCA (including mobile ICOCA and Apple Pay ICOCA) ID information. commuter passes from JR West and other railroads, as well as those from regional operators, can be loaded onto a single ICOCA card. Credit card and convenience store payments are supported as payment methods.

The commuter passes will be sold sequentially, beginning with the sale of commuter passes on January 15 at Sangi Railway. Actual commuter passes will not be available until March.

By the end of this fiscal year, the company plans to launch a service that allows customers to purchase discounted boarding passes for senior citizens using their My Number Card through the “iCONPASS” system.
