Qantas Airways has announced direct seasonal flights between New Chitose and Sydney.
Flights will operate three times a week from December 15, 2025 to March 28, 2026, coinciding with the peak ski season. The Airbus A330-200 aircraft will be used to provide more than 20,000 seats to Sydney.
The company says this will reduce travel time for Australians compared to conventional connecting flights and allow same-day access to ski resorts, as well as providing an excellent opportunity for Hokkaido residents to enjoy Sydney’s summer beaches and beautiful harbor.
This route is the only nonstop flight between the two cities and will meet the demand of Australian travelers who wish to visit Japanese ski resorts.
