Seibu Railway will implement a timetable revision on March 15 for all lines except the Tamagawa Line. The main points of revision are described here.
On the Ikebukuro Line, to relieve morning congestion at Tokorozawa Station, some weekday up trains departing from that station will now depart from Kiyose or Kotesashi Station. On weekday evenings, the downbound “S-Train” trains will be moved up by 30 minutes, and the downbound express to Kotesashi will be changed to the rapid train to Hanno. In addition, during the morning and evening rush hours, the commuter semi-express, semi-express, and rapid trains will be reassigned to reduce congestion.
On the Shinjuku Line, the departure time from Seibu Shinjuku Station will be changed from hourly 40:00 to hourly 30:00 for the “Koedo” express service during the daytime and evening. Between Honkawagoe Station and Tokorozawa Station, the number of up limited expresses will be increased at 23:00, and the last train will be moved back by approximately 20 minutes.
On the Haijima Line, the first train departing from Haijima Station will be changed from a local train bound for Kodaira to a semi-express train bound for Seibu Shinjuku to improve access to the city center. The express Seibu Shinjuku bound for Seibu Shinjuku, which operates irregularly on the Tamako Line, will all be bound for Kokubunji.
The revised timetables for each station will be available on the website in early March. The Seibu Timetable will no longer be sold in book form.
