Oedo Onsen Monogatari Hotels & Resorts will open “Oedo Onsen Monogatari Premium Sendai Sakunami” (16 Motoki Sakunami, Aoba-ku, Sendai City, Miyagi Prefecture) on April 22. Prior to this, the company began accepting reservations for accommodations on February 3.
It takes about 25 minutes by car from the Sendai-Miyagi Interchange on the Tohoku Expressway. The “Oedo Onsen Monogatari Premium Series” is an upgraded version of Oedo Onsen Monogatari, with a total of 22 facilities in the group. The operator is Takasenkaku Iwamatsu Ryokan.
The new premium lounge, themed “the study of a grand villa,” will offer complimentary alcohol and soft drinks upon arrival, after bathing, and during the stay. A fireplace is also provided, and the different atmosphere during the day and night is said to be one of the attractions of the lounge.
The hot spring baths include four natural rock baths with free-flowing hot-spring water and two indoor baths that retain the atmosphere of when Sakunami Onsen was first opened.
The restaurant, with a modern Japanese-style interior that makes use of the Yagura-gumi (a traditional Japanese roof structure), will feature a live kitchen and a buffet-style dinner menu that includes meat and fish dishes, Häagen-Dazs ice cream, and other dishes that are popular among all ages.
