The LVMH Group announced that it has become the main partner of the France Pavilion at Expo Osaka-Kansai, which will be held from April 13 to October 13. Together with the five maisons of Louis Vuitton, Dior, Céline, Chaumet, and Moët Hennessy, the group will hold permanent exhibitions and special events, as well as offer a bistro menu.
The details of the pavilion were announced at a presentation by COFREX, the general supervisor of the France Pavilion, held in Paris, France on February 4. Under the theme of “Anthem of Love,” the pavilion will deliver dreams to more than 20,000 visitors per day, for a total of approximately 3 million visitors.
Louis Vuitton and Dior will hold permanent exhibitions. Louis Vuitton will collaborate with architect Shohei Shigematsu of the architectural design firm OMA to create two spaces: a library with 85 trunks and a video installation.
Dior will “deliver an epic journey as a tribute to craftsmanship and handiwork” with the work of designer Tokujin Yoshioka and photographer Yuriko Takagi, led by Nathalie Crialle.
The Dior “Bar” jacket will be on display in three variations (blue/white/red), as well as the iconic perfume bottle reinterpreted by the iconic white canvas and 3D printing.
The other two special exhibition spaces will be joined by Céline and Chaumet. Céline will be open from April 13 to May 12, and Chaumet from September 1 to October 13.
Moët Hennessy will be the hospitality partner of the French Pavilion and will be responsible for the “Bistro” menu and the selection of wines and champagnes served at the special event.
