The Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route, operated by Tateyama Kurobe Kanko, will hold its famous spring event “Yuki-no-Otani Walk” from April 15 to June 25, where visitors can experience a wall of snow.
The giant wall of snow, “Yuki-no-Otani,” is created by clearing the roads in the Otani area, which is located around Murodo at an altitude of 2,450 meters, a heavy snowfall area, where snow accumulates more frequently due to blowdowns.
The “Yuki-no-Otani Walk,” a walk along this wall, is a typical spring event in Tateyama Kurobe, and is free of charge.
In addition to the Yuki-no-Otani Walk, events such as “Panorama Road” where visitors can enjoy views of Tateyama from the snow-covered road leading to the Murodo Terminal and “Tateyama Yuki Terrace” (fee-based area) where visitors can sit in relaxing chairs and overlook the Tateyama Mountain Range and Toyama Plain are scheduled.
