Ippana will hold “KUNIYOSHI IMMERSIVE ART in Kuniyoshi Utagawa” at the Hokkaido Museum of Modern Art (Kita 1-jo Nishi 17, Chuo-ku, Sapporo, Hokkaido) from April 25 to June 15.
This is one of the exhibits in the “Ukiyo-e Super Creator Kuniyoshi Utagawa Exhibition” organized by the Hokkaido Shimbun and NHK Sapporo Broadcasting Station, and is a spin-off of the “Ukiyo-e in Motion” exhibition. This is the first time the exhibition has been held in Hokkaido.
The exhibition features more than 50 Ukiyo-e paintings by Kuniyoshi Utagawa, including “Musashi Miyamoto’s Whale Extermination” and “Soma’s Old Interior,” and allows visitors to immerse themselves in the world of Ukiyo-e through a three-dimensional visual space using 3DCG animation and projection mapping.
Same-day ticket prices are 1,700 yen for adults, 1,000 yen for high school and college students, 700 yen for junior high school students, and free for elementary school students and younger (must be accompanied by a parent or guardian).
