On February 26, Jins launched “JINS ASSIST,” a pair of glasses that allow users to intuitively control digital devices with small movements of the head without using their hands.
The price is 15,000 yen. Compatible OS: Windows 10 or later, macOS 13 or later; available at the JINS online store and the Milairo ID online store for the digital disability certificate.
The JINS ASSIST hardware itself is a box-shaped hands-free mouse that attaches to the temples of eyeglasses, and can be attached to almost all eyeglasses, not just JINS products. The main unit weighs 4g and the cable 9g, for a total of approximately 13g, and is connected to a PC/Mac via USB Type-C. JINS ASSIST starts up and can be used 3-5 seconds after connection, and since it is wired, there is no need to worry about charging or losing connection.
Basic mouse operations include nodding to move the cursor, moving the head to move the cursor, and stopping at the desired location to display a command to select the type of click to perform. In addition to adjusting the speed of the cursor movement and the sensitivity of the click operation to suit your preferences, you can assign shortcut keys, scrolling, frequently used keystrokes, mouse operations, and convenient functions using shortcut settings. In addition, a step-by-step tutorial is provided to help you learn the operations.
