Mitsui O.S.K. Lines (MOL) announced that it purchased the cruise ship Seabourn Sojourn from U.S.-based Seabourn and took delivery of the ship on March 4.
The company purchased one cruise ship from Seabourn in March 2023 and began operating it as MITSUI OCEAN FUJI in December 2024. The company decided to purchase an additional sister ship, Seabourn Sojourn, because the ship fits MOL Cruises’ goal of “beautiful cruises in Japan.
Seabourn Sojourn will begin service in late 2026 and will offer a wide variety of itineraries, including short- to medium-term cruises in the waters around Japan, and will provide relaxing spaces and beautiful scenery from its suite-class cabins of 25m2 or more, public spaces, and outdoor decks.
The vessel, with a gross tonnage of 32,477 tons, is 198.19 meters long and 25.6 meters wide, and has 229 cabins with a capacity for 458 passengers. The ship is equipped with four restaurants. The ship will operate under the Japanese flag, and its new name will be announced later.
