Mitsubishi Estate opened Rosewood Miyakojima (1068-1 Kakawatori Shimobaru, Hirara, Miyakojima City, Okinawa Prefecture).
Located on a cape 20 minutes by car from Miyako Airport and 30 minutes by car from Shimojijima Airport, Japan’s first Rosewood Hotels & Resorts-operated hotel. 55 villas all with ocean views, private pools and gardens.
Designed by Studio Piet Boon and Mitsubishi Jisho Sekkei, the building will be built using local materials and arranged along the topography, and four restaurants and bars will offer food based on the island’s culinary culture.
In addition to a rosewood wellness experience at the Asaya Spa, a wellness facility surrounded by greenery in the center of the property, the hotel will also offer activities to experience the nature and culture of Miyako Island and indoor/outdoor kids’ spaces.
