Astil Hotel Juso Precious (1-10-13 Jusohonmachi, Yodogawa-ku, Osaka City, Osaka Prefecture) has installed a smoking area on the first floor of the hotel that resembles a smoking room in a now defunct Shinkansen train car.
The stainless steel interior and small window with a view of Mt. Fuji are faithfully reproduced from the Tokaido, Sanyo, and Kyushu Shinkansen “smoking rooms” that were discontinued in March 2024, and the same chime sounds as the smoking rooms in Shinkansen cars when you enter. Upon entering the room, visitors can enjoy the realistic sensation of being on the Shinkansen while smoking.
It is open 24 hours a day to guests, and is recommended for smokers who want to enjoy a smoke in a nostalgic space, as well as for those who love Shinkansen trains and railroads.
The hotel is located a two-minute walk from the west exit of Juso Station. The hotel has 122 rooms of 8 types, including single rooms (15m2), double rooms (15m2), and queen rooms (20m2), which can be selected from non-smoking or smoking rooms, a rooftop garden on the top floor with a panoramic view of the Umeda nightscape, a large bathroom with a sauna, and an outdoor hot spring.
The first floor restaurant “roomCAFE” will offer a breakfast mini-buffet (1,580 yen for adults) featuring local gourmet foods and ingredients from the Kansai region.
