“Explore the Society of Society 5.0” – See the vision of the city of the future proposed by the sponsors! From this point on, the sponsors will be exhibiting their individual companies. From the perspective of industry and technology, visitors can experience the urban lifestyle of the future in the four categories of “Transportation and Mobility,” “Environment and Energy,” “Manufacturing and Urban Development,” and “Food and Agriculture. First up is Kawasaki Heavy Industries. In the “Transportation & Mobility” category, the company has set up an exhibition place based on the concept of its proposed “ALICE SYSTEM,” a future public transportation system. The ALICE SYSTEM allows visitors to board the box-shaped vehicle “ALICE Cabin” and transfer to other vehicles such as trains and airplanes without leaving the vehicle. With the ALICE Cabin as the core, users can access ALICE Rail, ALICE Ship, ALICE Aircraft, ALICE Car, etc., and travel to their destinations in comfort and freedom without the stress of transfers. According to a Kawasaki Heavy Industries representative we spoke with, “The logistics industry has already achieved this in the form of containers, and we believe that this type of mobility will be born in the future if we can sublimate it to a form that allows humans to move around comfortably. I am excited to imagine the future when airplanes and trains equipped with the ALICE system are born! I was excited to imagine the future. MOL will exhibit a large model of its future zero-emission ship, Windhunter, under the theme of “Voyage into the Future with New Possibilities in Shipping. Visitors can experience a simulated voyage by creating wind with a fan. Kansai Electric Power Transmission & Distribution will exhibit “Smart Pole,” a future utility pole that is expected to be used for mobility, disaster prevention, and tourism. Three smart poles actually stand near the entrance of the Future City Pavilion, where demonstrations of solar and wind power generation and information submission using AI cameras and LED panels will be conducted. Visitors to the pavilion will also be able to experience AR using tablets. In the environment and energy field, Nihon Tokushu Toryo, Canadevia, and IHI will exhibit their products. In the area of manufacturing and urban development, visitors will be able to see the exhibition spaces of Kobe Steel, Komatsu Ltd. and CP Concrete Consortium. The “Food and Agriculture” area is being led by Kubota Corporation, a Platinum Partner. Two future general-purpose platform robots will be on display under the theme of a future “Food and Agriculture” laboratory that is friendly to the earth and people.
