On March 13, the Tokyo Transportation Bureau introduced VoiceBiz UCDisplay, a transparent display compatible with voice translation in 13 languages, at six new Toei Subway stations.

The new system will be installed at Asakusa and Shinbashi stations on the Toei Asakusa Line, Hibiya station on the Toei Mita Line, Shinjuku Nishiguchi station, Ueno-okachimachi station, and National Stadium station on the Toei Oedo Line, and in the station manager’s office at each station.

VoiceBiz UCDisplay is a universal communication system that allows the user to see the translation results while looking at the person at the counter, and to display the translation results as text on a transparent display.

Supported languages are Japanese, English, Chinese (simplified/traditional), Korean, Indonesian, Thai, Vietnamese, French, Spanish, Portuguese (Brazilian), Myanmarese, and Filipino. Subtitling of voice and keyboard input enables smooth support for people with hearing and language impairments, etc.
