I visited the new spa “Umekita Onsen Ren” directly connected to Osaka Station! Enraptured by the city view from the large bath, sauna, and infinity pool at the Grand Green Osaka South Wing

The nine companies of the Grand Green Osaka developer JV, led by Mitsubishi Estate, will open the South Building (5-54 Ohuka-cho, Kita-ku, Osaka City, Osaka Prefecture) of the Umekita 2-phase development project “Grand Green Osaka” on March 21.

One of the facilities of note is “Umekita Onsen Rin Wellbeing Park,” one of the largest health promotion facilities in the Kansai region, which will open at the same time in the South Wing Gate Tower. It is operated by Ras Suite, which also operates the Kobe Minato Onsen Rin, and has five themes: hot spring bathing, exercise, meals, meditation, and beauty.

The South Wing, which follows the North Wing that opened in September 2024 with the opening of Grand Green Osaka, consists of three buildings: Park Tower (3 below ground to 39 above ground), Gate Tower (3 below ground to 18 above ground), and South Tower (3 below ground to 28 above ground). The Umekita Onsen Ren is located in the Gate Tower (3rd to 4th floors).

It is directly connected to the Umekita underground exit of JR Osaka Station, and is also accessible from the 2nd floor deck of LUCUA 1100 and the underpass/2nd floor deck of Innogate Osaka and Baltica 03.

Although near the station, not only can you easily soak in a full-fledged hot spring with nothing but your hands, but you can also refresh yourself by spending the day in the sauna, bedrock bath, esthetic salon, gym, infinity pool, dining, rest area, and other facilities.

The hot spring at Umekita Onsen is a sodium-bicarbonate/chloride hot spring (hypotonic, neutral, low-temperature spring). The natural hot spring (source: Kobe Minato Onsen) gushes up from 1,150 meters underground, and is said to be effective in beautifying the skin by removing dead skin cells and retaining heat.

Both men’s and women’s baths are equipped with showerheads of the popular “Mirable” brand, which “removes dirt without scrubbing”. The men’s side is equipped with a vast dry sauna, water bath, and toilet space called the “Thermae Patio,” reminiscent of a Roman spa. The women’s side is equipped with a nano-mist sauna with a footbath to detoxify the body while moisturizing it. Locker and powder rooms are also available in large numbers, and “ReFa” hair dryers are available for women.

Other facilities include bedrock, lava bath, and hot yoga studios, a 25-meter indoor heated swimming pool with a fantastic space with projected images during nighttime, an aqua gym and Jacuzzi pool for rehabilitation, and a studio specializing in boxercise and aerial yoga, equipped with the latest fitness equipment. The facility is equipped with the latest fitness equipment and a studio specializing in boxercise and aerial yoga.

The pool and studio will also offer lesson programs to help people lead healthy and fulfilling lives, including yoga classes, bike exercise, and SUP yoga.

Of particular note is the heated outdoor infinity pool, a photogenic place to enter in a bathing suit, which is heated to around 38 degrees Celsius and can be used all year round.

The fourth floor is mainly for rest and relaxation. There is a “private booth” with massage chairs and individual monitors like those found in airplane business cusines, a “center lounge” where visitors can relax freely in an open space after a bath or fitness session, and a “relaxation salon” with aroma oil treatments and beauty equipment. Relaxation Salon,” which offers aroma oil treatments and beauty equipment.

The restaurant will also operate two food and beverage facilities: “Goshokudo Hakko-do Suiren,” where visitors can enjoy a fermentation-themed menu while relaxing under a sunken kotatsu space, and “Goshokudo Live Kappo Manren,” which combines Japanese cuisine and a dietary therapy menu based on wellbeing.

The admission fee to Umekita Onsen Lotus is 3190 yen for the Basic Plan on weekdays, 3740 yen on weekends and holidays, and 7040 yen for the 1-DAY Passport on weekdays, 9020 yen on weekends and holidays, etc. Lotus app members receive a 200 yen discount for each plan. For details, please check the official website.

After the opening of the South Building on March 21, Grand Green Osaka will open the rear section of “Umekita Park” (part of the North Park) in the center of the North and South districts in the spring of 2027, and will open in fiscal 2027.
