The Tokyo Metropolitan Government will hold the illumination event “‘Movement of Flowers and Light’: Toneri Stars Reflected in a Sea of Nemophila in Teshima Park” from April 11 to 29.
The “Flower and Light Movement” is an initiative that proposes new ways to enjoy metropolitan parks through the presentation of flowers and light throughout the four seasons. This year’s illumination will be held for 19 days in “Shonen Park” (1-1 Shonen Park, Adachi-ku, Tokyo), where lovely nemophila bloom in the vast park.
The theme is “Toneri Blue. Nemophila in its best season in spring, stars in the night sky, photo spots utilizing the abundant water flowing in the park, and big flowers of up to 25 times the scale will be featured to create a relaxing and extraordinary experience. Hibiya Kadan will be in charge of the decorations.
Lighting hours are 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays (except April 28). Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, holidays, and April 28 from 18:00 to 20:30. The event will be held in the B area (around the fountain and on the lawn) of the Metropolitan Toshaido Park, and admission is free.
Parks Sunset Hill Store, located near the Nemophila flowerbeds, will sell soft ice cream and other light refreshments inspired by Nemophila for a limited time only. A kitchen car will also be open during the event.
