On April 7, Kansai Airport began exhibiting its “Inverted Flap Type Information Display” at the Osaka Airport Hotel (3-555 Hotaruike Nishi-machi, Toyonaka City, Osaka Prefecture) in the Itami Airport Terminal.
The inverted flap type information display is an analog type of information board that displays the name of the airline, flight number, destination, and scheduled time by flipping the board, and is no longer used at Itami Airport because it has now been converted to digital technology.
As a result of internal discussions about its reuse, the decision was made to install it in the hotel lobby. The exhibits were actually used in Itami, and the old logos of the various companies are still in place. In addition, since the Osaka-Kansai Expo will be held soon, the logo of the Expo and Yumeshima, the site of the Expo, will be incorporated into the display.
In principle, the lobby is for hotel guests, but only from 11:00 to 14:00, non-guests are allowed to visit.
