The Expo site is entirely cashless. What payment brands/electronic money/ATMs/cash recharge machines can be used?

On April 13, the Osaka-Kansai Expo (EXPO 2025) will open in Yumeshima, Osaka. Here we report on scenes from the media day held prior to the opening of the Expo.

Please note that the Expo site will be the first international expo to be entirely cashless, and cash will not be accepted. In addition to eating, drinking, and shopping, EV bus rides, vending machines, coin lockers outside the gates, postal services, baggage delivery counters, and convenience stores will all be cashless only.

The main payment methods that can be used are the original electronic money for the Osaka-Kansai Expo, “Myakpe! the Osaka-Kansai Expo original e-money, 8 international brands including Visa and JCB, Apple Pay, Google Pay, 9 transportation e-money including Suica and ICOCA, nanaco, ID, QuickPay, Rakuten Edy, WAON, PayPay for code payment, d-pay, au PAY, Rakuten Pay, and others. Some brands are not supported by some stores.

In addition, cash recharging machines for prepaid card-type electronic money (Rakuten Edy, nanaco, WAON, and transportation system electronic money) and prepaid card vending machines (Rakuten Edy only) for those who do not have cashless payment methods or have lost their cards will be available at the venue.

In addition, ATMs and foreign currency exchange machines are located in the marketplace near the East and West gates.
