April Fool’s Day “Matsuya” takes over “Matsuya Ginza” – an unexpected realization?
The social networking tweet posted on April 1, 2025, the morning of April Fool’s Day, has largely come true: “[Report] Today, we took over Matsuya, a long-established department store in Ginza.
Gyudon chain giant Matsuya has taken over Matsuya Ginza, a department store celebrating 100 years in business, and is opening a collaborative storefront from April 9-15, not …….
The “Matsuya store opening” was realized as part of the gourmet event “Gourmet Meat Gourmet Gathering in GINZA,” which is held on the first basement floor of the store’s food hall! Matsuya’s Nikkatsu in GINZA,” a gourmet event held in the store’s first basement floor.
In the same venue, amidst a lineup of famous meat restaurants such as “Ginza Yoshizawa,” “Sendagi Koshizuka,” and “Ginza Jyuseki,” Matsuya, which serves a bowl of “beef rice” for one coin (420 yen), is standing shoulder to shoulder with the other restaurants. …… Although the sign on the rooftop has not been replaced like an April Fool’s Day muttering, the “I want to be everyone’s dining table” sign posted in the corner of the basement floor of the long-established department store is a reminder of the importance of the Matsuya logo (see above). The “Matsuya” logo is (for lack of a better word) just not right.
Of course, the beef rice served at Matsuya Ginza is completely different from the regular version. We headed to the first basement floor of Matsuya Ginza to check out the taste of the beef rice served at a reasonable price.
