Bertra has announced reservation trends for overseas local experience activities for summer 2025, based on bookings as of May 20.
In the ranking of Japanese destinations, Oahu, Hawaii maintained its No. 1 position, while Europe and North America rose in the rankings, with Paris (No. 2 last year) and Los Angeles (No. 6 last year) coming in at No. 2 and No. 6, respectively (No. 22 last year). Some Asian cities, such as South Korea and Bangkok, dropped in ranking.
Looking at the number of reservations for overseas local activities by area, sunset cruises and marine activities are popular in Hawaii, World Heritage tours and South Korea’s North-South border tours in Asia, and the Grand Canyon and Mont Saint-Michel in Europe and North America.
In addition, demand for buses with restroom facilities, ballpark transfers, and airport transfers is increasing to reduce the stress of moving around and making arrangements at the destination, and the range of experiences sought by travelers is expanding to include eco tours and sports games that allow visitors to experience history, culture, and nature.
In addition, the average customer spend per reservation is up 43% overall due to the weak yen and soaring local prices, especially in Asia (up 34%) and North America (up 27%), where the unit price has been relatively low in the past and high in the past, respectively.
The number of reservations for local activities handled by the company increased 16.2% compared to the same period last year (January-March), indicating that local experiences have become one of the most important elements of overseas travel.
