JR West and other companies will launch “ICO+ (icopla)” on June 1, which allows ICOCA commuting pass holders to use a variety of benefits.
WESTER points will be redeemed for ICOCA recharges, etc. for commuting and school commuter ICOCA commuter passes for JR West, Hiroshima Rapid Transit, Happiline Fukui, IR Ishikawa Railway, and Ainokaze Toyama Railway.
For example, WESTER points will be awarded based on the monthly charge amount to the ICOCA commuting pass, with 30 points awarded for monthly charges of 3,000 yen or more, another total of 60 points for monthly charges of 6,000 yen or more, and a maximum of 300 points for monthly charges of 18,000 yen or more.
Other benefits include use outside the commuter pass section (100-2100 point redemption), e5489 usage (200-3000 points), number of purchases at curico station vending machines (15-450 points), and cafe usage (20-500 points). In addition to the above initiatives, which have been in place since 2022, the new service will be offered to eligible ICOCA commuting pass holders on a permanent basis. The points will range from 300 to 8,000 depending on the amount spent.
In order to use the benefits, you need to log in to the WESTER application with your WESTER ID and then register your ICOCA commuter pass in the “Otoku ni GO!” section of the application (registration will begin at 9:00 a.m. on May 26).
