Ryohin Keikaku, which operates MUJI, will change the name of its smartphone application “MUJI passport” to “MUJI appli” and implement a complete renewal of the application in early September. Details of the new application are scheduled to be released in early August.

MUJI passport launched its service in May 2013. The application is free to download and use, and the number of annual active users in Japan exceeds 15.69 million (September 2023 – end of August).

The concept of the renewal is “Meet ‘just right’. Your partner for your life. The app itself becomes a membership card, and points are directly awarded when presented at the time of checkout. The app itself becomes a membership card, and points are directly awarded by presenting it at the time of billing.

The design has been completely redesigned from the previous application, allowing users to more intuitively obtain the information they want and use the online store.

The “MUJI Miles Service” offered within the app will also be renewed as the new “MUJI GOOD PROGRAM”.

Whereas the existing “MUJI Miles Service” awards points that can be used at checkout when a certain number of miles are accumulated, the new “MUJI GOOD PROGRAM” allows customers to use their points to make donations for disaster relief and reconstruction assistance.
