JICA Vice President Katsura Miyazaki met with Prime Minister Majaliwa of the United Republic of Tanzania (“Tanzania”) in Tokyo on May 28.
At the beginning of the meeting, Vice President Miyazaki congratulated Tanzania for hosting the Tanzania National Day and Business Forum at the Osaka-Kansai Expo, and expressed his desire to deepen cooperation between the two countries through contributions to TICAD 9.
In response, Prime Minister Majaliwa expressed his gratitude for JICA’s longstanding cooperation with Tanzania and his desire to further deepen ties between the two countries.
The two sides also exchanged views on how to address future development issues such as agriculture, industry, and infrastructure, as well as the potential for Japanese companies to invest in Tanzania.
