In addition to the regular menu, the restaurant offers a limited menu that changes weekly in collaboration with regions in 18 states.
Food on the regular menu can be enjoyed in any combination from appetizers to pasta, pizza, main dishes, and desserts.
For example, if two people come to the restaurant, we recommend choosing pasta + pizza + appetizer or main dish (3 dishes) for a solid lunch (dinner), or pasta or pizza + 1 dish (2 dishes) if you want to enjoy other food options.
Wine is available by the glass or bottle, so passersby may want to stop by for an adult dinner.
Seating is basically at tables (2-4 people), and at 2:00 p.m. there were many couples, couples, and groups of women visiting the restaurant. Of course, the restaurant also welcomes single patrons.
This time, we were served the following three standard and popular food items and one drink from the regular menu.
Patate croccante (1,380 yen)
Trofier Genovese (2,790 yen)
Margherita (2,490 yen)
Blood orange juice (780 yen)
Eataly’s original menu item, “Patate Croccante” is made of steamed potatoes that are deep-fried after an overnight stay. Crispy on the outside and flaky on the inside, the potatoes had an inherent sweetness.
The fries are cut considerably larger than most fries and are slightly salty, so it is best to taste the first half as is and the second half with the accompanying “Mediterranean Sauce.
The short pasta “Trofier Genovese” is thicker and firmer in texture than typical spaghetti. It has a slightly udon-like texture. The sauce is a perfect balance of basil, garlic, and Parmigiano-Reggiano, and I was able to eat it without getting tired of it until the end.
The tomato-based “Spaghetti Eatery” (2,490 yen) and “Rigatoni Carbonara” (2,790 yen) are also popular pasta dishes.
From among the pizzas, I chose the Margherita. The size was about the same as the length of the reporter’s forearm, much larger than I had expected. If there were a couple of small children and their mother, one slice would probably be enough to fill their stomachs. I think it would be enough to fill the stomach of a small child and a mother.
I was also surprised that it took only a few minutes from ordering to serving, even though the dough was thick and fluffy. The rich flavor of the mozzarella and tomato sauce filled my mouth so much that I almost forgot that I was in Osaka and not Italy.
Payment methods include credit card, QR code payment, and various types of electronic money. However, the Expo Osaka-Kansai smartphone payment service “Myakpe! a smartphone payment service for the Osaka-Kansai Expo, is not supported.
As of noon at the end of May, the line at the reception desk on the day of the exhibition was 2.5 hours long. Those who want to enjoy a relaxing meal after seeing the exhibition or those who want to feel more like an Italian, why not stop by the restaurant?
