Mitsui Fudosan announced that the “Mitsui Shopping Park LaLaport TOKYO-BAY North Building Reconstruction Project,” which is being promoted in stages in phases I and II, will open in October in the Phase I area.

Lalaport TOKYO-BAY North Building (2-1-1 Hamacho, Funabashi, Chiba) is a commercial facility located a 5-minute walk from Minami Funabashi Station on the JR Keiyo Line and JR Musashino Line, and a 5-minute walk from Funabashi Kishibaba Station on the Keisei Main Line.

In Phase I, the entire North Building will be scaled up from the current two-story building to a three-story building with a total floor area of approx. 103,100 m2 from approx. 97,000 m2, increasing the number of stores from approx. 70 to 94 upon completion of Phase I.

The first and second floors will feature a wide range of stores, from highly sensitive select, sports, and lifestyle goods to cafes with terrace seating and service stores.

On the third floor, a food court and restaurant zone will be combined to create one of the largest food zones in Chiba Prefecture. The 350-meter-long Harbor Avenue, which symbolizes the facility, will be widened to approximately double its width through Phases I and II.

The North Building Phase II area, which is currently operating, will temporarily close on October 13 due to reconstruction. A closing sale is scheduled to begin in September.

The adjacent Vivit Minami-Funabashi will be renamed Mitsui Shopping Park LaLaport TOKYO-BAY North Gate in conjunction with the opening of Phase I of the North Building, and will be renovated and integrated with LaLaport TOKYO-BAY.

After the integration in October, Lalaport TOKYO-BAY will have approximately 390 stores in total (after temporary closure of the North Building Phase II area), making it Mitsui Fudosan’s commercial facility with the largest number of stores.
