Naoki Wakabayashi’s Travel Photo Gallery] Suetoshi Farm (Nagano Prefecture)

Posted on 2025-06-072025-06-09 by Editor in Chief

This time I visited Suetoshi Ranch in Saku City, Nagano Prefecture. This is the third time I have visited this ranch, mainly because of the horses, and because I can go horseback riding there. It is also a bit of a zoo with many other animals.

The best part is that you can experience horseback riding. First, you will learn how to operate the horse easily, and then you can ride for about 40 minutes along the mountain paths in the park. It is a very relaxing and stress-relieving experience. Small animals are also kept here, and I was even able to meet a ferret, which I own.

There is a wide variety of horses, and you can lose track of time just watching them play in the stable. This is also the best time of year to see cute foals and baby goats.

Access by car is more convenient since the ranch is located in the mountains. It takes 30 minutes from the Saku IC or 50 minutes from the Shimonita IC of the Joshinetsu Expressway.

If you take a train, take a cab from JR Sakuhira Station. The company will pick up guests using the lodging facilities at Sakuhira Station.
