Phoenix Seagaia Resort (Hamayama, Yamazaki-cho, Miyazaki City, Miyazaki Prefecture) installed the latest electric go-kart “Segway Gokart PRO 2” at its flagship hotel “Phoenix Seagaia Ocean Tower” (former Sheraton Grande Ocean Resort) for the first time in Japan on June 13. The new go-karts are available at the flagship hotel, Phoenix Seagaia Ocean Tower (formerly the Sheraton Grande Ocean Resort).

The circuit is specially set up in the walk mall on the south side of the hotel. The maximum speed is 8 km/h (beginner course) and 18 km/h (challenge course), which can be selected according to the experience level of the participants, and each course is equipped with special shock-absorbing barriers. There is no need to worry about going off course even at high speeds, so even beginners can experience the thrill of speed with peace of mind. The roofed course can be enjoyed regardless of weather conditions.

Hours of operation are 10:00 am to 5:00 pm (9:00 am to 6:00 pm in July and August). Fees are 1000 yen for 5 minutes/ 2000 yen for 15 minutes on weekdays, and 1500 yen for 5 minutes/ 3000 yen for 15 minutes on weekends and holidays. The requirements for use are a minimum height of 130 cm and a maximum weight of 100 kg.

Surrounded by black pine forests along the Pacific Ocean, the resort has three lodging facilities, with the Phoenix Seagaia Ocean Tower, a 154-meter-high hotel at the center of the resort, offering ocean views from every room. In addition to the Shosenkyu hot spring and spa facilities and restaurants that make the most of Miyazaki’s ingredients, the resort also has a “Fun Bicycle Park” for family fun, an indoor pool (The Ocean Club) that is free for hotel guests, and one of the best golf courses in Japan.
