JR Tokai and JR Tokai Logistics will start offering “Tokaido Mach Mail,” a corporate cargo transportation service on the Tokaido Shinkansen, directly to the Sanyo Shinkansen on August 18.
Cargo Shuffle” offered by JR West on the Sanyo Shinkansen which is offered by JR West on the Sanyo Shinkansen, eliminating the need to change the cargo at Shin-Osaka Station. This will reduce the travel time between Tokyo and Hakata from the current approximately 7 hours and 20 minutes to approximately 5 hours.
On September 1, the company will also begin offering a new “Tokaido Ultra Mach Delivery” service. While the current service requires an application at least one week in advance of transportation, the “Ultra Mach Service” can be used with an order placed up to two hours prior to the day of transportation. The number of trains covered by this service is significantly limited to only six, but the company plans to increase the number of trains in the future.
