Aoimori Railway will operate a special train to and from Misawa Station, the closest station to the venue, in conjunction with the Misawa Air Base Air Festival 2025 to be held on September 21 at the Air Self-Defense Force Misawa Air Base (125-7, Aomori Prefecture, Misawa-shi, Oaza Misawa-aza Gokubo).
In addition to the extra regular trains, the “Special Rapid Paid Capacity MSJ Liner and AOJ Liner” will operate extra trains that offer a paid seating service. The trains connect Aomori Station to Misawa Station nonstop in 51 minutes at the fastest possible speed, and are operated on a capacity basis with advance reservations so that passengers can be seated without fail for a comfortable trip.
The outbound (upstream) “MSJ Liner” departs Aomori Station at 5:30 a.m., earlier than the first train from Aomori Station, and arrives at Misawa Station at 6:21 a.m., earlier than the connection from the JR Hachinohe Line. The return “AOJ Liner” departs Misawa Station at 3:25 p.m. and arrives at Aomori Station at 4:17 p.m.
A boarding ticket and a numbered ticket (1,000 yen) are required to board the train, and numbered tickets will be available on the website and at the ticket windows of Hachinohe, Misawa, Nobechi, and Aomori stations at 10:00 on August 21.
Both the MSJ Liner and AOJ Liner will be operated by Aoimori 703 Series trains (two-car formation, all seats unreserved, seating capacity of 95 passengers, semi-cross seats, with restrooms), and numbered tickets will be sold for the number of passengers to be accommodated.
In addition, a total of eight extra regular trains will run between Hachinohe and Misawa Stations (three from Hachinohe to Misawa and six from Misawa to Hachinohe), and admission restrictions are planned at Misawa Station during the return home period (around 1 pm to 6 pm).
