GENSEN HOLDINGS, operator of the Oedo Onsen Monogatari Group, announced that it has acquired a new property in Minamiaso Village, Aso County, Kumamoto Prefecture. The 30,249m2 site, four-story building with one basement floor, will be renovated, and is scheduled to open around July 2026 under the TAOYA brand of hot spring resort hotels.
Located in Aso-Kujyu National Park, almost in the center of Kyushu, the hotel can be accessed within 3 hours by car or train from all prefectures in Kyushu, and within 30 minutes by car from Kumamoto Airport. The hotel is located in a rich natural environment with a panoramic view of the Aso Gogaku (five Aso peaks) and other mountains, and visitors can enjoy hot spring baths while admiring the scenery of the four seasons in Aso.
The hotel also features an all-inclusive room rate system that includes most of the hotel’s services, such as alcohol at dinner, drinks in the lounge, and evening meals, for a relaxing stay.
This will be the second facility of the Oedo Onsen Monogatari Group to open in Kumamoto Prefecture, following Oedo Onsen Monogatari Amakusa Hotel Kameya.
