IHG Hotels & Resorts will open Regent Karuizawa in 2028.
This will be the brand’s second facility in Japan, following the Regent Kyoto, which is scheduled to open earlier in the same year. It will be designed to allow guests to enjoy the natural environment of forests and mountains, and will offer an immersive experience with restaurants overlooking the valley and cultural experiences.
The hotel will have a total of 58 guest rooms, some of which will be villa-type rooms. The building, which includes a hot spring bath, fitness gym, and meeting space, will be designed by Kengo Kuma.
