Ltd. and the Yomiuri Shimbun will hold the “Osaka-Kansai Expo Design Exhibition” from October 1 to 19. The venue is “Osaka Prefectural Enoko-jima Culture and Art Creation Center enoco” (2-1-34 Enoko-jima, Nishi-ku, Osaka City), and admission is free.
Following the success of the exhibition “Modern Expo Posters: A Graphic View of Contemporary Expo” held at Kyoto ddd Gallery in June, this exhibition will continue in the same vein.
A timeline of the design process for the Osaka-Kansai Expo introduces the steps taken from the logo mark to the official character “Myakmyak,” the design system, venue decorations, and secondary productions.
At the EXPO WORLDs exhibit, visitors will be able to enjoy a complete picture of the venue decorations, including the Myakmyak monuments that decorated the venue, the banner flags of the design system, the “Co-MYAKU Sign” nicknamed “Kokyuu,” and even the soundscape of the venue music, “Inochino Ensemble.
In addition, documents and sketches that show the background and thought process behind the creation of the logo, official characters, and design system will also be on display.
They will also showcase some of the achievements and production process of the Nomura Kogeisha Group, which has been involved in more than 50 projects in total, including more than 25 pavilions and exhibition booths, such as the Japan Pavilion and the Panasonic Group Pavilion “Nomo no Kuni”.
The museum is open from 11:00 to 20:00 (until 15:00 on the last day, admission until 30 minutes before closing), closed on October 6 and 13.
Talk programs by creators and producers involved in the Expo will be held during the exhibition period. The date, time, and content will be announced on the official X (@kouta_hikichi) of VISIONs creative director, Kota Hikichi, and on the official X (@shivaoka) of Ningen Hanaoka, Inc.
