Many people have loved and nurtured our Guam route,” said JAL’s Ms. Kaori Nishiharaguchi, Executive Officer, Deputy General Manager, Solution Sales Division, and General Manager, Tokyo Branch, who took the stage at the ceremony. Guam is the most familiar overseas resort, and I am sure it remains as a cherished memory for all of you. I am sure that some of you will have new encounters and moving experiences in Guam in the future. I would be happy to assist them. It has been shown that the more places people stay, the happier they are, and JAL will provide various values by creating connections between people, regions, and cultures through transportation, and will work to increase happiness and wellbeing,” he said, expressing his expectations for the creation of new values through travel and transportation. Reign Biscoe Lee, Director General of the Guam Visitors Bureau, also noted that the Guam Visitors Bureau was established in 1970, the same year as JAL’s Guam route, and said, “As we celebrate our 55th anniversary, I look back on our history together with JAL and realize that tourism exchange between Guam and Japan is a bond supported by air routes. JAL is not just an airline, but an important partner that links tourism and friendship,” he said, expressing hope for a deeper relationship in the future. As previously reported, JAL is running a campaign to commemorate this anniversary, offering a variety of preferential treatment to passengers on Guam routes, such as hotel breakfasts and taxi/car rental coupons. The campaign is also unique in that it is set for a very long period of one year, from October 1 to September 30, 2026.
