The Yomiuri Shimbun will release “The World Expo 2025 Osaka-Kansai: The Ring Connects the World” on October 7, an A4-size, 180-page, all-color photo book priced at 2,420 yen.
The Expo attracted people from 158 countries and regions overseas, and the event has been a great success every day. The book is said to contain some 820 rare photographs taken by Yomiuri Shimbun photographers who have been walking the Expo site since before the opening, when Yumeshima was transformed by the decision to host the event.
The exhibition is packed with powerful aerial shots and vibrant cuts in vivid color, including the venue’s symbolic “O-roof ring,” the unique pavilions, the Blue Impulse display flight, fireworks events and water shows, memories of Myakumyak and the Co-MYAKU Sign, and more. It is a completely preserved edition that also includes nostalgic photos from the 1970 Osaka Expo and the 2005 Aichi Expo.
The magazine is available at major bookstores nationwide, online bookstores, Yomiuri Shimbun retailers, the Official Store at Expo 2025 Osaka-Kansai, West Gate Store, JR West Japan Group, and other stores. The Yomiuri Shimbun’s online store, Art Exhibition Navi, also offers the magazine for pre-order (scheduled to be shipped around mid-November).
