Columbia will reissue the Bugaboot 1, the brand’s first footwear product, on October 16, 1993.
Each pair will be embroidered with a serial number and come with an exclusive shoe box and key chain. Sizes range from men’s 25 to 30 cm (in increments of 1 cm). In Japan, the shoes will be sold only at COLUMBIA TOKYO FLAGSHIP (6-27-8 Jingumae, Shibuya-ku, Tokyo), Grand Front Osaka (4-1 Ohfuka-cho, Kita-ku, Osaka-shi, Osaka), Sapporo Factory (Kita 2-jo Higashi 4, Chuo-ku, Sapporo-shi, Hokkaido), and the official online store.
This model incorporates the latest footwear technology while respecting the original design at the time of release by legendary designer Peter Moore, who worked on Nike and Adidas and is said to have had a major impact on sneaker culture.
The original Bugaboot, named after Canada’s Bugaboo Mountains, was popular for its hybrid design that combined the durability of a duck boot’s construction with the comfort of an athletic shoe. The 2025 reissue features Columbia’s unique “Omni-Grip” outsole for grip and “Techlite” lightweight, shock-absorbing midsole for cushioning.
