Amazon Furusato Tax, in which approximately 1,000 local governments nationwide participate, has features such as next-day delivery of some returns as soon as possible, exclusive returns only available on Amazon, and a selection of small returns starting from 1,000 yen.
Amazon (Amazon Japan) updated its ranking of the popularity of hometown tax returns on October 21. The period for the tally was from October 12 to 18.
Only “71 days” left until the 2025 homeowners’ tax deadline.
No. 1 was the “Kyushu Kuroge Wagyu Beef Hamburger, 140g x 12 pieces” from Karatsu, Saga Prefecture, which was No. 5 last week. The hamburgers are a combination of six parts of Kyushu black wagyu beef (loin, cutlet, belly, thigh, shank, and neck) and pork from Kyushu, and each 140g is individually packaged in a frozen package. The donation amount is 12,000 yen.
Continuing from last week, second place went to “Katsuo no Tataki 2.5kg” from Ainan Town, Ehime Prefecture, which will be delivered by the end of the year in frozen vacuum-packed (small portion) packages. The product has a special reason, such as peeling skin or wrong size, but the taste and quality are said to be unaffected. It can be stored in the freezer for approximately 180 days, and can be defrosted under running water for 10-15 minutes. The donation amount is 10,000 yen.
No. 3 was “Salmon Roe American Chum 200g x 2” from Shiranukamachi, Hokkaido, Japan. Natural Alaskan salmon roe is washed in cooled salt water at less than 10℃. By freezing and preserving the product with nitrogen filling, it has a shelf life of over a year. The donation amount is 15,000 yen.
