Japan Transocean Airways and the Okinawa Churashima Foundation will launch the new “Yui Jimbae” as the third specially painted “Jimbae Jet” during this fiscal year. The aircraft is a Boeing 737-800.
The two companies launched the first “Jinbeh Jet” in 2012 and the second “Sakura Jinbeh” in 2014 to promote tourism in the northern part of Okinawa’s main island, and have continued joint promotions and other activities to convey the attractions of Okinawa.
In 2026, the northern part of the main island of Okinawa will celebrate the 5th anniversary of its registration as a World Natural Heritage site. To express the desire to “connect the splendor of Okinawa to the future,” the name of this third unit adopts the traditional Okinawan word “yui,” meaning bond, cooperation, or connection. The name expresses the desire to connect Churashima Okinawa to the future by strengthening ties between people and communities against the backdrop of its rich natural environment.
The paint design uses “green” as the base color, which is reminiscent of the World Natural Heritage “Yanbaru and Iriomote forests” and the emerald green of the Okinawan sea, and incorporates motifs of the natural environment and biodiversity to express the company’s desire for a sustainable future.
