The Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) signed a Loan Agreement (L/A) with the Government of the Federal Republic of Nigeria on December 15 in the Federal Capital Territory of Abuja for a loan of up to 26.18 billion yen for the “Lagos State and Ogun State Power Grid Improvement Project.
This project will build new transmission lines and substations in Lagos and Ogun States in southwestern Nigeria to increase transmission capacity and stabilize the power system in the two states. The project aims to contribute to economic and social development in the region, and will contribute to SDG (Sustainable Development Goal) Goal 7 (Clean Energy for All).
