The Hirakata City Station Area Type 1 Urban Redevelopment Project, in which Keihan Holdings, Keihan Electric Railway, and Keihan Dentetsu Real Estate are participating, is proceeding with construction work with the aim of opening the third construction zone around summer 2024.

In conjunction with the redevelopment project, the east ticket gate of Hirakata Station and Block D of the elevated commercial facility “Keihan Hirakata Station Mall” are integrated with the redevelopment facilities. Offices, a hotel, and a tower residence for lease will be integrated with the station. The combined development of Keihan Hirakata Station Mall Blocks A through C will double the business area and triple the number of stores compared to the previous development.

The ground level on the first floor will have a facade and store layout that emphasizes the connection with the plaza next to the roundabout and the town that will be developed as part of the redevelopment project. The river level on the second floor, which connects the east ticket gate to the bank of the Amano River, will feature terraces along the Amano River, while the rooftop plaza on the fifth floor will offer distant views of Mount Katano, Mount Mannoji, and the mountains of Takatsuki on the opposite bank, with trains on the Keihan Line and Katano Line coming and going from Hirakata City Station below.

The 7th to 15th floors of the high-rise building are office floors owned by Keihan Holdings and Keihan Electric Railway. From the floor-to-ceiling windows, visitors can enjoy a wide view of Hirakata and Katano cities, the Ikoma Mountains, the Kawachi Plain, Osaka City, and the Rokko Mountains from Hokusetsu. When taking a break, visitors can quickly walk to the facility’s rooftop plaza and terrace.

The Candeo Hotels Hirakata will be located on the 19th through 26th floors of the high-rise building. The hotel is high enough to overlook Osaka and Kyoto, and the interior design is composed of bronze, travertine, and walnut. the lobby floor on the 19th floor will feature a restaurant and banquet area where guests can enjoy a breakfast featuring seasonal ingredients. There is also an outdoor balcony that can be accessed from a height of approximately 81 meters above the ground.

The Sky Spa with an open-air bath is located on the top floor of the hotel, 110 meters above the ground. The blue-toned design allows visitors to enjoy the ever-changing view of the sunrise from Mount Katano, the setting sun turning the Yodo River red, and the nightscape of the Osaka Plain as they soak in the hot water. Visitors can also enjoy a sauna in the “Totoi Space,” which includes a wax sauna and an open-air area.
