Happy New Year to all of you! 2023 is expected to be a year of uncertainty in terms of socioeconomic conditions, as well as domestic politics, diplomacy, and security. In order to establish “resilience,” the ability to withstand all kinds of risks, and “sustainability,” the ability to achieve sustainable growth, we will move forward with a sense of speed and vigor in the following three areas.
(1) Lead as a “front-runner” tourism powerhouse. Corona will surely converge. With an eye on the after-Corona, Japan needs to take another strong and speedy step forward on the path of becoming a tourism nation, and even a tourism superpower, which is a major pillar of its growth strategy. The Seibu Group will lead the way as the front runner in this effort to make Japan a tourism superpower.
(2) DX Human Resource Development. Achieving sustainable growth for the future. Since the Corona disaster, the company has been speeding up three items: management reform, digital management, and sustainability. In management reform, we have been working to lower asset-light and breakeven point ratios, as well as to respond to the new normal based on behavioral and value changes. In digital management, there is no doubt that momentum will further accelerate both in Japan and around the world this year. The Seibu Group will make firm efforts to develop human resources for digital management. In sustainability, we will firmly achieve sustainable growth for the future, even as various issues such as decarbonization and environmental preservation are further highlighted.
