Ace’s Japanese travel bag brand PROTECA has launched the “Fina RF,” a recycled material version of its “Fina” soft carry-on with caster stopper, which employs a unique lightweight structure.
While most soft carriers use resin panels to attach the body fabric, the unique lightweight “Air Rim 2” structure has a panel-less design that drastically reduces the number of resin panels. Lightness is achieved by covering the body, which is composed of upper and lower truss-shaped plates and polycarbonate pillars, with fabric like a tent. The plates enhance shape stability, and the body flexes to cushion impacts.
The main body material is made of “&+,” a material made by material recycling technology that recovers used plastic bottles and recycles them into fiber. The interior is equipped with a zipper pocket and a band to secure luggage, and a side strap is also included.
The casters use “silent casters” that reduce the perceived volume by approximately 50% compared to conventional casters. It also features a wide-design top handle. In addition, the “Magic Stop,” which allows the wheels to be easily fixed with a hand-held switch, prevents unexpected running.
The 18L size is priced at 42,900 yen, the 24L size at 45,100 yen, and the 29L size at 48,400 yen. The 18L size can be placed in coin-operated lockers of various sizes.
