Sunshine 60 Observation Deck “Tenbo Park” renewed on April 18. 251 m above sea level, created like a park with a sense of openness.

Sunshine City will open its observatory, which has been closed since October 3 for renovation work, as “Sunshine 60 Observatory Tenbo Park” on April 18.

The observatory opened 45 years ago on April 6, 1978, on the 60th floor, the top floor of “Sunshine 60,” which was “the tallest skyscraper in the East” at the time. The theme of this renewal was “365 days a year, a park is always a delight. The theme of the renovated facility is “365 Days a Year, Park Biyori,” and the goal is to create a facility with a sense of openness like a park in the sky.

From a height of 251 meters above sea level, visitors can enjoy a 360-degree panoramic view of Tokyo from east to west, north to south. On a clear day, Mt. Tsukuba and Mt. Fuji can be seen in the distance, the cityscape is tinted by magic hour at dusk, and the glittering nightscape of the city appears at night.

The building incorporates plantings and artificial turf, creating an open space surrounded by sky and greenery. BGM and refreshing aroma of nature are also provided. In addition, the event space will offer “something interesting. Aiming to be an infant-friendly facility, it will be equipped with a crawling space and a baby room.

Fees are 700 yen for adults (high school students and older) on weekdays and 900 yen on weekends and holidays, 500 yen for children on weekdays and 600 yen on weekends and holidays, and free for children under elementary school age. Prices are subject to change depending on the time of year and special events.
