In Sri Lanka, the burden of disease due to non-communicable diseases is increasing as society ages, and the prevalence of dementia is expected to increase. The government of Sri Lanka has decided on various policies and launched initiatives to improve the capacity of medical facilities to provide care for the elderly and to develop community medical and welfare systems to support care for the elderly at home, in order to address these health and social life issues. This cooperation will contribute to strengthening the service delivery system for the elderly in the country by developing and deploying a model for providing medical and social services in communities according to the needs of the elderly and the resources of the community.
