Boeing will hold a delivery ceremony for its last 747 aircraft on January 31 (local time) in Seattle.
The twin-aisle, four-engine Boeing 747 is a super-sized airliner that began production in 1967 and has been in production for 55 years. Known by the nickname “jumbo jet,” it has contributed to the casualization of overseas travel through mass transportation.
The last aircraft (a cargo 747-8F) rolled out of the Everett, Washington factory on December 6, 2022, will be delivered to Atlas Air on January 31. The event will not be open to the public, but will be streamed live on vimeo.
