Apple lantern jacking” to fill Misawa Airport with Aomori specialties and crafts made from Neputa

Aomori Prefecture, Misawa Airport Promotion Association and goen° will hold “Apple Propaganda Jack” from February 2 to mid-March.

The event will be held as a promotional measure to attract tourists to Misawa Airport and Aomori Prefecture, with the aim of establishing the four flights on the Haneda-Misawa route, which has been increased to four flights per day.

Neputa of various sizes, modeled after Aomori’s famous products such as apples and kokeshi dolls, will brightly decorate the entire Misawa Airport. Produced by art director Chie Morimoto (goen°), the entire Misawa Airport will be decorated with over 100 apple lanterns, 180cm Kokeshi lanterns, Hachiman horses, and other unique Neputa. The concept was to “welcome visitors with a full Aomori experience.

The exhibition will be held in the Misawa Airport departure lobby, arrival lobby, stairs, 1st floor corridor, arrival baggage claim area (restricted area), etc. Exhibition hours are from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
