A Western Pacific Union – Japan’s New Geopolitical Strategy,” edited by Shinichi Kitaoka, Special Advisor to JICA, was published on February 10.

This book is an English translation of “Recommendations for a Western Pacific Alliance” (Toyo Keizai Shinposha, 2021), edited by Special Advisor Kitaoka, which examines the realization of the Japanese government’s foreign policy of “Free and Open Indo-Pacific” (FOIP) from a geopolitical perspective, a paper by a young scholar.
