On February 15, the Japan Tourism Agency announced the results of a survey of 400 men and women in Generation Z (19-25 years old) on their attitudes toward overseas travel.
As a result, more than 90% of those who have already traveled abroad answered that they “want to travel abroad in 2023,” and more than 40% of all respondents said the same. The top destination for men was Hawaii (30.0%) and the top destination for women was South Korea (36.5%), with “security” (70.3%) coming in as the top factor when choosing a destination, ahead of “travel costs” (59.5%), which came in second.
The Japan Tourism Agency has developed “Tour Safety Net,” a safety confirmation service that distributes local safety information via e-mail and SMS. The service provides 24-hour access to information on hospitals, evacuation centers, embassies, and other local facilities, and automatically sends safety confirmation information to family members in Japan in the event of an emergency. The service also automatically sends safety confirmation information to family members in Japan in the event of an emergency.
