On March 8, JR Tokai Passengers will release a collaboration item of ekiben and various goods featuring newly written illustrations of the Tokaido Shinkansen and Chiikawa, a popular character from Twitter.
Ekiben in collaboration
Thirteen items are made with ingredients related to “Chiikawa,” including octopus wiener, salted musubi, and steak (made with Japanese beef). The fish meat sheet that adorns the ekiben depicts one of three types of “Chiikawa, Hachiware, or Usagi” and includes a random postcard of a newly-drawn design of a purser as a novelty (three designs).
The chopstick bag and the menu also incorporate the essence of Chiikawa, making it a “Chiikawa-zukushi” ekiben. The price is 1580 yen.
