The Metropolitan Expressway will be closed to traffic all day due to renewal work on the Daishi Bridge on the No. 1 Haneda Line. The period is from 5:00 a.m. on May 27 to 5:00 a.m. on June 10 for two weeks.
The Daishi Bridge was built when it opened to traffic in 1968. Since more than 50 years have passed since its construction and 80,000 vehicles per day pass over the bridge, renewal work has been underway (related article: “Metropolitan Expressway Daishi Bridge to be Widened for Easier Driving! The new bridge will be widened (from 16.5m to 18.2m) to meet current standards, and will be closed to traffic for two weeks for this replacement. The sections to be closed are as follows
